Transfers
Within the JAC System
Transfers are free to customers with cash fares or 10-ride passes. Transfers are issued to go directly from one bus to another to complete a trip in one direction only, and cannot be used to get back on the same bus. They must be used within one hour of the time they are issued. Transfers cannot be used to go between Routes 2A and 2B.
Please note:
Transfers are for one-time use only and are good for one hour from time of issue.
Return trips require additional fare.
Ask the operator for a transfer as soon as you board the bus.
Passengers with monthly passes do not need a transfer.
To and from RTC INTERCITY
If you're traveling from Carson City to Reno, RTC INTERCITY accepts transfers from JAC at a reduced fare. Pass holders who present a transfer with their pass pay no additional fare.
If you’re traveling from Reno to Carson City, you can receive a transfer to JAC at no cost.

To and from Valley & Lake Express
If you're traveling from Carson City Minden/Gardnerville, Valley and Lake Express accepts transfers from JAC at a reduced fare. Pass holders who present a transfer with their pass pay no additional fare.
If you’re traveling from Minden/Gardnerville to Carson City, you can receive a transfer to JAC at no cost.
